2021 Mini-Mos is still UNSTOPPABLE!

In its 39th year, Mini-Mos is Australia’s longest-running, consecutively held volunteer fun run.

One of Sydney’s much-loved community fun runs, it traditionally features 2km, 5km and 10km courses through the streets of Mosman and a fair on the grounds of Mosman Public School (MPS) catering for all ages and abilities.

Like most fun run events, COVID-19 has forced some radical re-thinking by the organising committee to keep our community safe. Last year, Mini-Mos was unstoppable and ran a very successful virtual event with over 1,000 local participants registering.

In 2021 Mini-Mos will again run as a virtual event from the 1st – 28th November.

Courses are largely unchanged except for the 2km course which will be run on the path around Rawson Oval, Mosman. Anyone is welcome to register and participate. Participants can run or walk any of the Mini-Mos courses as many times as they like over the event period. Times will be logged and there will be live leaderboards with prizes for various categories.

The Mini-Mos committee will ensure that delivery of the rescheduled event is in accordance with any government-mandated requirements relating to the management of the COVID-19 coronavirus that are in effect at the time of the event.

Marc Havercroft, President of the Mosman Public School P&C Association said, “The safety and well-being of our school community, race competitors, is paramount, and in consultation with the Mosman Public School executive team, our committee has decided that, as a precaution, a virtual event again this year is the best course of action.

Our wonderful sponsors‚ David Murphy Residential, Vision Personal Training Mosman, Orthodontics Exclusively Mosman, Audi Mosman, URM, SquareOne, Fourth Village, Mosman Dance Academy, Athlete’s Foot Mosman, Four Frogs and THiRDi Group have been notified and support our decision. This is the 39th year of Mini-Mos and, by moving it to a virtual event we are doing everything to ensure that it remains a safe, successful, on-going event.”

Last year Mini-Mos had two local mums Melanie Hirst and Michelle Banks who set themselves the unstoppable challenge of logging a time every day for the entire event. We look forward to seeing what challenges participants do in 2021.

We appreciate that this is a huge disappointment for our community, especially to the thousands who support us each year and we will work hard to deliver an outstanding event. More communications will be provided over the coming weeks however, please keep checking our website for further updates.
