Note to Accompanying Adults

If you’d like to run the 2km with your child, you will need to register your child in the 2km and then purchase an Accompanying Adult race bib during the registration. By doing this, you and your child will run in the Accompanying Adult wave (not with their age group).

By entering yourself as an ‘Accompanying Adult’ your time as an adult will not be calculated.  You will however be assigned a race bib, which MUST be worn and visible on race day in order to enter the race assembly area for the start of the 2km event.

If you decide to enter as an Accompanying Adult after you have already completed an entry for your child, go to your registration link in your confirmation email to purchase an Accompanying Adult bib.

As an ‘Accompanying Adult’ you MUST start and run with your child for the duration of the event.  You and your child will start in the last start wave, behind all age-group start waves. You and your child WILL NOT be allowed to start in your child’s age-group wave. Please cooperate with event officials during the race start, as these rules are in place for safety reasons for all 2km participants, particularly those children competing without adults.

We encourage pre-school children to enter with a parent (or both), just make sure you select ‘not at school’ for the school field.

If you wish to run the 2km with a stroller or pram, you will be started in a wave at the very end of the race. You do so entirely at your own risk.

Prizes

Every child who completes the 2km course will receive a commemorative medal whether running on their own or with an accompanying adult.

2km place getter certificates are awarded to:

  • fastest overall runners in boys and girls divisions

Certificates will be sent our by email the week after the race.
